Quality of research and teaching

The continuous improvement of the Quality Assurance management system consists of four processes that depend on one another: planning, management, self-evaluation, improvement.

The Quality Assurance System must produce documentable or measurable effects on the improvement of teaching, research and third mission activities, and indirectly on administrative and management activities.

Quality of research

Concerning research quality, the approach dictated by Quality Control sees the introduction of departmental quality principles: transparency, self-evaluation, information sharing, reporting of results in terms of indicators and documentary evidence. Quality Control promotes the culture of quality to facilitate self-evaluation, offering support to the Departments for them to define research and third mission objectives according to their specificities, following the objectives of the Strategic Plan of the University.

Annual Form on Departmental Research (Scheda Unica Annuale della Ricerca Dipartimentale SUA-RD)

The Annual Form on Departmental Research (SUA-RD) is aimed at collecting information on research and third mission, and is handled directly by the Department in a self-evaluation perspective. During the annual review meeting, the Department collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative information concerning the objectives, organization, quality policies of the department, and research groups.

This practice allows the department to reflect on its research and third mission activities, and their planning. SUA-RD is also used for the annual verification of research results for the periodic evaluation and accreditation conducted by ANVUR.

The Department publishes the parts of the SUA-RD that allow students, families, companies and institutions to understand the objectives, results and functioning of the department in a quality perspective.

Quality of teaching

The quality of teaching represents the ability to give adequate answers to the expectations of anyone interested in the training service offered: students, families and the world of work.

On a University and on a Departmental level, it is a question of setting objectives, tools, actions and verifications, aimed at implementing a quality policy to constantly improve the offer.
